Privacy Policy

Renviel is a desktop app that runs AI coding command-line tools (“provider CLIs”) on your computer. This page explains what data Renviel and this website handle.

Who is responsible

Renviel (“we”) publishes this app and this website. Contact: the contact form.

What stays on your device

Your conversations, prompts, files, projects, settings and provider accounts stay on your computer, and each provider CLI keeps its own sign-in there. None of this is sent to us. When you chat, the provider CLI sends your prompt directly to that provider, or to the address you set for that account, and their own terms and privacy policies apply.

Your Renviel account (optional)

An account is optional, and everything in the app works without one. When you sign in with your email address, GitHub or Google, we keep:

We use this to sign you in, show your account in the app and keep sign-in secure. To prevent abuse we briefly count sign-in attempts, without storing your IP address or email address. Your work never becomes part of your account.

An account is never required. GitHub and Google, when you choose them, handle your sign-in under their own policies.

Contact messages

What you send through the contact form or to contact@renviel.com (your email address, message and optional name, plus the app version and operating system if you open the form from the app) is forwarded to our inbox so we can answer you. It is not stored on our servers.

Cookies and tracking

We don't use advertising or tracking cookies, and we never sell data.

Service providers

We use service providers to host this website, run the account service and send email (sign-in codes and replies to your messages). They process data on our behalf, only to provide those services. The app itself also connects to other services: to check for updates, to install a CLI or a skill you chose, to check an API key you enter, and to services you connect it to yourself (such as an issue tracker or a tool server), with your own key or sign-in, directly from your computer. What it exchanges with them doesn't reach us, and their own terms and privacy policies apply.

How long we keep data

Your account is kept until you delete it. If you stop signing in, we delete it two years after your last sign-in. Contact emails are kept until your question is dealt with, and we delete them if you ask. To remove local data, uninstall the app and delete the .renviel folder in your user folder.

Your rights

You can delete your account yourself at any time in Settings → Account: your account, sign-ins and the record of what you accepted are removed from our servers at once. You can also ask what data we have about you, get a copy, have it corrected or deleted, or object to its processing. Write to us through the contact form and we'll answer within 30 days. You may also complain to the data protection authority where you live.

Changes

When this policy changes, we update this page and the date above.
